Origin story

Once upon a time, an Anthony with the last name of Smothers married a Jacqueline with the last name of Telljohann. When they discovered that the only options to change your last name through marriage are using one of the two existing last names or a combination of both of the last names, they decided to hyphenate their last names and become Telljohann-Smothers.

One day, Anthony went to get a drug test for a new job. After seeing his last name, the woman helping him sign in was very puzzled by his strange last name and asked, "How do you pronounce that? Telephone smoothie?". And just like that, Telephone Smoothie was born. Fast forward two years, and they realized that systems do not support long or hyphenated last names. They decided hyphenating their last names was a mistake and both became Telljohann's.

We're a couple of software engineers that are passionate about travel, food, and the outdoors. Jacqueline loves to scrapbook and decided to create this blog as a digital scrapbook of our adventures. We currently live in Charlotte, NC by means of Cleveland, OH and Columbus, OH.
